Ipswich 102 is the local radio station for Ipswich, and each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news, speech levels etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK’s radio regulator.
This Public File contains details of the elements that Ofcom regulate, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for our local community. It is relevant only to "Ipswich 102” on FM. As well as FM, you can also listen to us on DAB Digital Radio and online.

Transmission: Ipswich 102 is available on 102FM across Ipswich. Ipswich 102 is also available across the county on DAB digital radio.
Automation: During these unprecedented times we’ve have made some changes from 1 April 2020 to programming in the light of changing resourcing availability and income. On weekdays 5 hours of peak time daytime output is automated, weekends are currently fully automated. Please note presenter content is typically pre-recorded on the day of transmission shortly before broadcast.
Local production: Ipswich 102 is locally produced (from our Ipswich studios) 24 hours a day.
News Bulletin Schedule
Local News is broadcast on the hour from 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday, then 7am till 1pm inclusive at weekends.
Outside of peak time local bulletins we provide a national bulletin broadcast every hour.

Local travel information is broadcast twice hourly between 6am-10am and 3pm-7pm Monday to Friday, with additional updates throughout the day as and when necessary. Travel bulletins are also aired if & when required during our weekend programming.

How to complain
Ipswich 102 and operates a complaints procedure which refers all complaints to the Station Manager - Paul Morris - for investigation and response. To lodge a complaint please contact Ipswich 102 using the normal station contact details. If you are unhappy with how we respond to a complaint, you can also complain directly to Ofcom.
